Further Information

Our environmental instruments are ideal for schools, colleges, businesses or for anyone who has an interest in the measurement of environmental conditions.

In the classroom, light meters are ideal for carrying out experiments on different types of light sources. For example they can be used to help demonstrate the energy efficiencies of various types of light bulbs. Light meters are a useful tool for photographers wishing to find the perfect exposure settings or for health and safety enforcement officers to test whether safe lighting levels are present in the workplace.

The term anemometer comes from the Greek word anemos which means wind. It is used to refer to airspeed measurement instruments that are commonly used in meteorology and aerodynamics. Measuring wind speed couldn't be easier than when using our anemometer or wind speed meter. Simply hold the meter in the air and the digital display will give a clear reading of the wind speed in mph, feet per minute, kilometres per hour, metres per second or knots. They also display a graph based on the Beaufort scale. The meter incorporates a thermometer so the temperature can be tested at the same time. Again these clever little instruments are ideal for schools. In Geography they can be used to demonstrate wind direction and the differences between gusts and average wind speed.
